Although the allure of the STEM fields—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—has a lot of lucrative career prospects, it can get expensive quickly. For prospective minority high school students or college students weighing their options, securing a decent scholarship can mean everything. Minority Women in STEM Financial Need Scholarship

The future of STEM will be shaped by efforts to expand diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Scholarships is taking a significant step toward doing so.

Eligibility:

  • High School Seniors, College, and Graduate Students
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Hispanic/Latino

There is always a need for medical researchers, and the Undergraduate Scholarship Program is dedicated to giving students from disadvantaged backgrounds financial support to study biomedical, behavioral, and social science research.

Eligibility:

  • US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Must have a GPA of 3.3 or greater on a 4.0-point scale
  • Demonstrate financial need affirmed by your undergraduate institution’s office of financial assistance.
  • Must pass a federal background check.

You are not eligible for UGSP if any one of the following items applies to you:

  • You are a high school senior.
  • You have already been awarded an undergraduate degree.
  • You are enrolled in an advanced degree program, such as a master’s degree.
  • You are unable to fulfill the payback requirements.

Also, according to the website: “For every year of scholarship support, scholars commit to two paid service obligations in the NIH Intramural Research Program. These are:”

  • A ten-week full-time summer internship at the NIH immediately following the year of scholarship support.
  • One year of full-time work at the NIH post-graduation; this service obligation may be deferred until completion of an advanced degree program.”

 

Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship Program
